At this years Øya Festival we have been invited to participate in a poster exhibition, hosted by Are Kleivan, along with 15 other designers and artists. All have been given a band/artistname who will play this year, which all have to make a poster which reflects upon the given artist. All the posters are screenprinted in 3 given colours, format 420×640 mm. We have designed a poster for Wu-Tang member Raekwon, whoom we are really looking forward to see next week at the festival. The posters will also be up for sale as a series of 15, as well as individual ones for a really reasonable price, offcourse in limited editions, printed by Automaton. The exhibition can be seen inside the festival area (Gamlebyen, Oslo – 10.-14th of August) as well as a pop-up gallery in Oslo (the location for the gallery are not decided yet, we will update as soon as we know).

We have now just finished the “Oslo – A Poor Man’s Connoisseur Guide to Happy Living In One Of the Most Expensive Cities In The World” 2nd version, which is a cultural city guide to Oslo, Norway (The first version can be seen in our Work section. We have worked closely with the editor and connoisseur Sondre Sommerfelt with the curation, and have had the joy of working close with the photographers, and the many collaborators involved. There will be a launch for the guide at Bonanza (Youngstorget 6) at Tuesday 10th of august at 17.00 PM, and we hope to see you there. The 100 page book will this year be released in relation with the Øya Festival, and is published by Musikkbyen Oslo.

We are proud to say that we we were awarded with both Gold and Silver at this years Visuelt Design Awards. The categories which we won were Self Promotion and Catalogues. Our work for Arts Council Norway recieved Gold, and our Processed exhibition in Tokyo with StokkeAustad last November, for the Norwegian Embassy in Tokyo, got a Silver. Congratulations to both of our beloved clients. Yay!

The last few weeks we have been working on an exhibition in collaboration with StokkeAustad and ODL (Oslo Designerlaug) at ROM for Kunst og Arkitektur (Art & Architecture Gallery) in Oslo. We were asked to take part in the curation alongside the art direction and concept. The exhibition is hosted by ODL, and we have invited some of norways leading furniture and product designers to exhibit their work. We have designed the overall concept development and interiours, as well as promotional material such as posters, a small catalogue and signage. The title of the exhibition is UTFORMASJON, and will focus on the value of things which we dont really notice, in relation to how we see things visually, where the whole is more than the sum of its parts. For a while now we have been designing the monograph book for artist Øivin Horvei. The book showcases the artists work and exhibitions, with a more in-depth view of Horveis amazing universe of thoughts and ideas. The book just arrived from the printers. Tomorrow, thursday the 6th of may, there will be a launch of the book as well as an exhibition by the artist at Kunstnernes Hus in Oslo, at 6.00 PM. The vernissage will also include booksale, and performance/concert by Angelo. Hope to see you there!

The last few weekes we have been designing the overall identity for Petter Skogstad for the Salone 2010 in Milan, which included promotional material, web and exhibition design. He was just featured on the Domus Magazine blog with a nice video, as well as been awarded by Monocle for the top 5 stands/exhibitions at the fair. Congratulations Petter!

We are back in the office after a week in Tokyo, Japan; our exhibition was very well received and the printed material, which was printed in Japan, turned out to be above our expectations. The exhibition was a collaboration with industry- and interior designers StokkeAustad. The project will be up in our portfolio section very soon, meanwhile there are some pics on our Flickr from the construction day at the exhibition space.

We are currently art directing and designing an exhibition in Tokyo, Japan with the talented designers StokkeAustad. As well as the actual space, which will include works from StokkeAustad, we are also designing the printed material which is at the printers in Japan as we speak. The exhibition will also include some of our studios projects in a more subtile and abstract way, directed to be a conceptual way of seeing design, not just as a visualization. The exhibition will take place next week from 2.-4. of December at the Tokyo International Exhibition Center (Tokyo Big Sight).

Last week we were invited by Arctic Paper and our beloved printer Otto Stenersen to travel over to the Arctic Paper factory in Munkedal, Sweden. From a grand tour in the production facilities to discussions and a proper introduction in their use of environmental certifications.

After more than a month in our new studio the place is finally starting to take shape. A week back our new bookshelves arrived, and as a celebration we made an unofficial frame by frame movie from the building process.

Our studio has moved to new and improved office spaces. As our library has grown and clientmeetings has increased, we can now settle in with the joy of knowing we have such a big studiospace. More pictures are still to come. Our new studio location is: Fredensborgveien 6, 0177 Oslo.

We are currently working with the art-collective avaf from Paris and Rio on a huge exhibition at the National Museum here in Oslo. The opening will be on the 13th of June at Tullinløkka, and will also feature various happenings during the summer until the 13th of September. Some of the printed matter will include posters, invites, flyers, exteriours as well as a monography catalogue which is to be published by the National Museum in august.

We´re currently busy working on loads of projects which might explain the lack of updates in our work section. One of those projects is an artist book for Fredrik Raddum. An artist we admire and are very happy to be working with. This week he finished his biggest project so far, a huge installation at Skatt Øst in Oslo. A few more photos from the construction can be seen on his website.

Our studio was recently awarded with Silver in the norwegian bookdesign award Årets Vakreste Bøker 2009. The book, “State of the Arts” for The National Academy of the Arts will be displayed at the exhibition in the National Library in Oslo until the end of April.

Last week the Oslo Conniosseur Guide launchparty and vernissage for the works of the invited artists/designers took place in the amazing old catacombs here in Oslo. As last year, we have been working with the material for norwegian fashiondesigner Tina Haagensen and her brand “tinah”. Her amazing AW 09/10 collection features a striking story, as always, and its a real treat working with designers that are true to the concept when creating. In releation to the Oslo Fashion Week, tinah will be showcasing her new collection “All Those Memories” at DogA, tuesdag 10th of february, at 21.00 PM. The printed material will be updated in our work section in not to long.

We have been working on the design and identity for the “Design fra Nord” exhibition in Oslo, in collaboration with the product and interior designstudio StokkeAustad.
