The National Museum in Oslo hosted avaf for their summer exhibition this summer. avaf, an artist collective based in Paris and Berlin, asked us to work on their promotional material.

As part of the whole identity, we made invitations, a series of posters, banners and exhibition leaflets. avaf have a way of forcing the viewer to totally indulge in their work, in order to experience it properly. We wanted to convey that through the printed matter and forced the receiver to think, before understanding the message. The invitation was a see-through folded poster with mirrored text, printed on 60 gsm paper. The posters were printed as a series, which revealed the information once the different posters were put up. This made those who already knew about avaf immediatly understand, while others had to decipher the information. The triangular shape avaf used to construct the exhibition is reflected in the use of typography and composition.
